Although the ending of 'Fionna and Cake and Fionna' suggests that Ice King's stories might be based on signals he receives from another universe (presumably as another side-effect of his crown).Yet the show treats them like this anyway. Alternate Universe: A rather strange case of this as they're creations of a fanfiction the Ice King made.Leaving it to the comics to generally explain more about the characters (which are canon as Natasha Allegri was the one who came up with a good chunk of concepts for the characters and wrote the comics herself). All There in the Manual: The TV Show rarely focuses on them and most of the time it's generally A Day in the Spotlight (At the current there are only four episodes: The first focusing on Fionna and Cake, the second Marshall Lee, the third on Lumpy Space Prince and the fourth spreading attention across some of the supporting cast).
